The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon
For this production of The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon, by Don Zolidis, produced by Ball State University's Theatre
Education program, I served as one of two directors, my first time directing a full-length play. I was finally able to practice scheduling, blocking, designing, and delegating for an entire team and troupe. I had my co-director, Alyssa Taylor, to help, and our teamwork was much appreciated. It was a pleasure to once again partner with the Burris Laboratory School and the Indiana Academy.
We put together this production during the Covid-19 pandemic, which created its own unique challenges. Mask restrictions were still in place, and we had a difficult time finding ways to keep our costuming and blocking safe. Thankfully, there were no Covid-19 scares with our cast, and we found masks that we could make work for our costumes. The students were very excited to have them as mementos from the show.
